Advocacy Curriculum Facilitator Orientation Online Training 11/12
- Dates: November 2, 4, 9, 12, 16, and 18, 2021 (6 sessions)
- All sessions will be held virtually from 1:30 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. CT
This six-session virtual training is being held to support the facilitation of the NIWRC Advocacy Curriculum which was released in August of 2021. The curriculum was created to meet the need for tribal domestic violence programs to train new advocates on-site at no cost, according to their schedule. It can also be used for public education events. The goal of this training is to provide an opportunity to become familiar with and be comfortable utilizing the curriculum materials, key concepts, and session objectives. The agenda basically follows the table of contents of the curriculum available in our online Resource Library. Sessions will be conversational to allow for discussion of content and issues that may arise during facilitation.
This training is intended for those who have had advocacy training and experience, and plan on utilizing the curriculum to provide education to domestic violence advocates, community members, and allied agency/program staff. Given this objective and space limitation, those interested in participating are asked to complete and submit the attached application by October 18. Applicants will be notified on October 22 whether their application has been accepted for participation in the workshop.
